Tonight I surpassed 25,000 words for nanowrimo right on schedule!  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

This brings my complete total to 38,974.  Not too shabby.

Of course, the second I go to update my shiny new word count, the nano site is down for maintenance.

Hope everyone else has been meeting their goals!  I'm off to hit refresh obsessively for awhile...

All caught up!

Nanowrimo update

My word count at the moment is 14442 for nanowrimo, which is slightly less than where I should be.  I got a bit behind last week when I slacked off for two days because I had an exam to prepare for/take.  (I like how I consider it "slacking" when I put off writing to study.)  BUT, after a few days of writing extra, I'm starting to get caught up.

Even more exciting, I feel like the story is starting to take shape and I will actually have some usable text when this month is over.  I'm starting to like my story all over again.

My total word count overall, including what I already had written before nanowrimo is 27882.  Not too shabby.

Between my end of rotation exam yesterday morning and going out last night, I'm a bit behind on my nano word count by about 1300 words.

*facepalm*

So today I need to write almost twice as much as the minimum daily quota in order to get back to where I'm supposed to be.  I'm going to the circus today--don't judge, circuses are cool--so that's another chunk of time unavailable for writing.  But my plan is to take my netbook on the trolley with me and try and get some writing done on the way in and out of time.

We shall see.  (And bonus points if you got the tiny Doctor Who reference.)

Day one

Success!

The first day of my first foray into the world of monthly novel-writing has gone well.  I have gone over the recommended minimum of 1667 words, so that I'm already a little bit ahead.  Not to mention the fact that I don't feel like what I did write today actually sucked any more than what I normally write.  So despite the added pressure, some of this may actually be usable once the month is over.

Next week my schedule changes so that I will actually have less time than I have now (-__-), so I'm doing what I can now to try and make up for what I may not be able to do later.

There are times when I really wonder whether I like making myself crazy.

Happy NaNoWriMo!

I have not actually officially started my writing for nanowrimo.  I'm going to continue with the story I've been writing, I just won't count what I've already written toward the word count.  Here goes nothing.

Good luck, everyone!

Epic.

It's going pretty well, I think.  I had a bit of a break through tonight in that I was struggling a bit with how to get my main character to discover and accept the occurrence of something shocking and unbelievable and how to get her reaction to be believable.  After a bit of lip-biting and staring at the screen and much use of the delete key, I think I figured it out.

Also, I realized that at the rate I'm going, it is very possible that I will have a fully completed draft of my novel at the end of NaNoWriMo, rather than just 50,000 words that may or may not ever turn into something.  Kind of exciting.

Progress is being made.  I still haven't quite pinned down the feeling I want to get out of this story, but it's getting closer.  I'm very happy with how it's going though.
